Meet Our Pastor
Thank you for visiting our web site. We desire to be of service to you in some way. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I was born in Okeechobee, Fla. on November 15, 1962. I grew up in Cairo, Ga. My parents are Mac and Martha Roland and they live in Reynoldsville, Ga. I grew up attending Pine Park Baptist Church. I graduated from Cairo High School in 1980. I went on to Emergency Medical Technician training and spent ten years as a Paramedic.
I am married to Kathy who is my God-given wife, best friend and is truly my "other half." She teaches kindergarten at a Christian school. We have three children: our daughter Ashley who is a pre-school teacher; and our two sons Garrett, who is a college student, and Joshua who is in high school. I have two grand-daughters, Jaylene and Abigail. We have spoiled our grandchildren "rotten."
I came to the Lord in October of 1986. When I met the Lord I was an alcoholic, used drugs and lived the "party life." I was bound for destruction both here and in eternity. I was lying in an emergency room one night after a drunken car accident when I asked the Lord Jesus to save me. Three months later I received the Holy Spirit and was completely delivered from alcohol, drugs, tobacco and a sinful lifestyle. I was water baptized in March of 1987 and soon after received my call to preach.
I know that God can save and deliver because He saved and delivered me! I was as bound up as anyone can be. Unbelief and bondage was my life. All I did was breath a one sentence prayer for Him to save me and He did! I believe in the power of Jesus Name. He still saves, heals, delivers and fills today. The heart of my ministry is to see those who are enslaved by satan's power delivered.
In April of 1989 we were called by New Life Church to be Pastor. We learned much and appreciate the way that these long time Christian people endured my "growing" into the ministry. It was with great sadness that we left Thomasville in Feb. of 1991. We arrived in Barberville in April of 1991. I have received my B.A. in Theology from Southwest Bible College and I am currently working on my Masters in Ministry. I am a Certified Police Chaplain and volunteer for the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
In April of 2008 we will have served this church for 17 years. God placed us right where He wanted us! We have been so blessed here. The church family has been wonderful and we appreciate the love they show each and every person that comes through the doors. We truly believe that the best days of our ministry together are ahead! 
Our home church was Full Gospel Chapel (now Word of Life) in Cairo, Ga. I had the priviledge of being discipled by Pastor Joe Price. He opened his home and pulpit to me. He truly had a desire to pass down to me (and the other "preacher boys") all he could. I am eternally grateful for all he and Sis. Ruby did for me and my family. I am also very grateful for Superindentant George Bass for giving me a chance and helping when I got started.
